Hello All;

It seems that at least once a year somebody asks,,,guess it's my turn.

All you snowed in riders have got to be "fetteling?" something while that white sh*t melts. Ours stayed in the mountains this year. lots of rain though, cutting ride time to in between showers on the weekend during 30mph blows.

So far I have put a new fork seal in on one tube. Changed gear box lube, repacked front wheel bearings, Changed front brake shoes, Put in a different contact assembly and breakers after 30 years.(hopefully this one doesn't slip as much) Added some baffles to the Tai silencers, then added some steelwool to that, then removed the steelwool.

What are Y'all up to?

Hi Bob -

Around here, we're up to about 39" of snow still!!

Good time for some garage work:

1) Replace fork oil
2) Find the "missing" zerk fitting on the drive-side swinging arm
3) Pull carbs for a cleaning
4) Pull head for inner washer mod. and new push tube O-rings...
5) Check air pressure in tires
6) Drain gas tank into lawn mower can
7) Refill tank with fresh gas
8) Figure out a way to mount my craven rack and panniers

.....a few other things to do as well....I figure by then it will be the end of March and MAYBE the snow will be gone by then!?!?

Cheers,

Steve

Hello All;

Just a reminder, Get the Battery on the charger! And check those connections.

I found an open ground today, at the battery.

No projects here, too busy with work. I just gave the bike a super service; all fluids, grease (steering head and wheel bearings also), tighten stuff, clean electrics, and super detail cleaning and wax. That's about all I have time for and it's taken me most of the winter to do that much. It's actualy kind of nice to to have a project going on....

Words are so unnecessary!

thanks guys! i knew it had good bones under all that bolt on ugliness!

before:

when it came time to get a helmet, i found a website for a store that just happened to be really close--so i went in and found a bunch of really nice guys. their site is pretty strong as far as narrowing search results. no real triumph specific stuff, but good prices on what they do have.

and ya, gas in the tank this weekend!

I have one of those cargo nets too....picked mine up in the automotive section at Wally World!

Be sure it has plastic clips....metal ones can mar the shiny bits...
