I have a '71 TR6R. The rear taillight is bunged up and needs to be replaced. I know the correct lens is a Lucas L679, but there are several variations of this on the market. What's on there now has STAL 71 in the upper right corner. I think this is correct, but I'm not sure. What I've read so far says Triumph changed the lenses in '71 for the oil-in-frame models, but no numbers are listed. I've also seen several lenses with STBL 61 on them. Size-wise, both are the same.

Anybody have any info on this? Thanks!

I also have a '71 TR6R but it has a '73 tail light assembly. My '71 replacement parts catalog shows p/n 99-1046 for the replacement lense for you. B.O. p/n is 01-99-1046 according to their 2004 catalog. You should be able to find a crossover p/n with these numbers. Try BO too. They had no new stuff in 2004, just used, but that was 6 years ago. They may carry aftermarket lenses now. I break one every 4 or 5 years backing into cabinets and so on when parking in my shed. Should be a popular item; easy for you to come up with one.
